During a routine infrastructure inspection at Grimsby Fish Docks, our marine engineering team discovered severe wear and tear to a vital maintenance and operation sluice. Left unchecked, this failing sluice posed a significant risk to the dock’s water management capabilities and the overall safety of the port.
Bespoke Engineering & Sluice Gate Redesign
Rather than simply patching a failing system, Hickman Engineering focuses on long-term solutions. We safely removed the defective sluice structure directly from the quay and transported it to our Immingham base. Utilising our in-house CAD design capabilities and extensive marine fabrication experience, we completely redesigned and manufactured a brand-new, vastly improved sluice gate system. This bespoke engineering solution was explicitly designed to allow for much easier and significantly safer operational maintenance moving forward.
